![]() ![]() Not able to master the control of each of the different powers himself as was necessary for his job, he realized that he must step down from the Wizard's Throne in order to put a new ruler in its seat. The other wizards drank in the bountiful fountain of magic and power and mastered their spheres and stopped listening to the pleas of Gabriel. As the sphere of the cosmos, Gabriel was meant to be the power that kept all other powers in check. Each sphere has it's own unique powers as well as two unique wizards guarding it. ![]() Fire, Earth, Life, Air, Water, and Death. He governed over the other immortal wizards of the land that in turn governed over their sphere's of power. Or more appropriately was the high seat in the circle of power. He's the high seat in the circle of power. Merlin falls into the ocean with all hope lost when his destiny takes hold and he's saved by the lynchpin that is supposed to be holding the world together, Gabriel. As the opening cinematics bring us up to date, we see Merlin's flying boat attacked by a gaggle of dragons. The world will not be a kind place for this up and coming wizard. ![]() As one of the few last remaining humans left in the world, Merlin will have a long and arduous road before him. A very famous name, and while this particular Merlin may not be associated with Camelot, he's got more than a few tricks up his sleeves. These games are long and Age of Wonders II will be no exception. Which of course drains whatever free time you have down to a bare minimum. So we're left finding ourselves wanting a chance at all of these titles. A lot of the gameplay is very similar to all of the other titles out there, but for some reason, the turn-based games seem to have a level of polish and fun attached to them that the RTS genre could never muster as a whole. The funny thing is, all of these games are coming along the same way as the RTS genre has in the past. ![]()
